The Race Fallacy

There is a lot of talk right now about “Racial Justice” and the race issue in general. But there are no separate races. We all, black, brown, yellow, and white belong to the same race. Our distinct physical characteristics are the result of our separate adaptations to different environments and different cultures. As world population grew these different cultures came into contact and conflict with each other. At that point things become complicated.

While the Society of Phred believes the major problem with present day societies is that they run on the fundamentally corrupt and enslaving model of the Roman Empire. there is a deeper mechanism at work here. Yes, there are still dictatorships that basically run on the Egyptian model. That deeper mechanism exists in both structures. This mechanism is a “force multiplier” for the state making it difficult to just do the right thing. The power of multiple people believing that the State has real power are forced to believe in that power ever time they “step out of line”. Those same people act for the State in horrible ways because they are told it is the thing they must do in this position, not necessarily because they would do so without that authority.

To get back to the point, these force multipliers are much more effective if the idea of different races are applied to the people the system tries to control. When you can get each side to accept that they are genetically different to the point that they can be determined to be not human all your actions become incorrect. This is not science. We each have a diverse set of differences in our genetic make up, whether we belong to one, or another, of these falsely termed races. I’m a “white” man (Actually my great, great grand mother was Cherokee Indian, so I’m sure I have a few of her genes as well as my Scotch/Irish genes, all from my mother. I get my height from my Grandmother on my Father’s side, who was a German emigrant, so I’m clearly mostly European in my genetic heritage. While I understand that all of those facts are used as a descriptor for the person “Dale”, I do not believe any of those facts make me a different race from the wonderful woman I worked with in my job. She comes from a different cultural background than I do, and in my clumsy attempt to create closer communication, I invaded her space in a way she could only interpret as trying to dominate her. Being friends I was able to get her to tell me what, exactly, I had done wrong and we have been closer because of that interaction. She is a fantastic woman, raising 3 kids and a husband, while caring for her aging mother, and at the same time getting her Masters degree. Having black skin is a distinctive characteristic that makes her different from me, but many of the white women in the office had characteristics of hair and body that made them quite distinctive as well. Apparently there are people who believe those distinctions in skin color and sex make those with such characteristics “less human” than the European white male. This power structure definition is built into the Roman Model at the fundamental levels, which is why it is so hard to get  a handle on. Our attitudes about each other must change. One way to change the discussion would be to stop talking about racial difference as if it was something real that actually mattered in a conversation about the oppression by  the powerful of everyone else by using race as a tool to pit one section of the population against another. The fact that we are all the same species; the same race; means we are all of equal value to the world and to the State. Equality and value require nurturing and protecting. These are two things that the idea of race does not support. This is because, in my estimation, it is a false concept that brings no real value to a conversation about social structures that work for all people. We need to turn the topic of conversation to how the system oppresses us all by pitting us against each other with false ideas. We are fighting an educational system that teaches racism along with these other ideas that support that oppression, and that is only one of the problems.

If only the people who profess to believe in Jesus of Nazareth actually practiced his principle directive to Love thy Neighbor as Thyself.

First you must have a clear, un-corrupted perception of the concept of neighbor for the principle to actually work. I am certain neighbor is not limited to your small group of associations, and that is the current perception. Love your family, but screw everyone else. Not quite what the principle of LTN intended.

There are lots of things we all want. One of them is:

Peace
