Hi! I’m your Rant Organizer.

So, what are we doing here and what is this all about?

Well, the short answer is you can rant about anything you like.

The more detailed answer is that what and how you post on Rants, and how you respond and reply to others on their rants will determine whether or not you are asked to participate in more detailed discussions.

As this suggests, there are other levels of discussion going on deeper in the website. The level just above Rants are the Mods (short for moderators) who can read Rants and make invitations to ranters based upon the content and character of their Rants history.

You can post about whatever you are interested in that the Society is not, and even gain listeners within the group, but will never be invited to the next level, and we, the Society are happy to support that level of communication, but we are looking for a focus on the goals of the society. It is only you, the ranter, who can decide to contribute your energies to the cause. Since your freedom of choice is what we are trying to accomplish we can’t get there by an application of force. You must choose your path.

Given all of that you probably could still use a hint or two about how to proceed. Start by reading the About page to get an idea of the goals and principles of the society. Then follow the guidelines below.

1. No proposal will be considered valid if it involves killing humans to accomplish the goal.
2. Focus on the structural social components that cause an inequality rather than the inequality produced by that structure. This includes the social structures that enslave us, distinctions between conditioned behaviors and conditioned thoughts, and the use of identity to divide and conquer both within one social structure and between different social structure.
3. Be aware that while specific people may appear to be the crux of the problem it is only the conditioned behavior that they represent that is the real problem. It never matters who occupies a position of power as the position guides the behavior and not the holder of the position. The problem is never with the people, but with their conditioning.
4. Finally, the solution to the problem may involve learning ways to dismantle a social mechanism that is damaging. Once it is clear that a conditioned behavior is damaging to the individual, the question becomes how do we remove the social pressures that cause that conditioning in the first place.

Of course, while the Society already has goals and aspirations, you may be able to direct the group in a totally unexpected direction toward a very different solution. Don’t hesitate to be creative in you approach and ideas.
